Sylamore Trail Excursion May 2009

On: Saturday, May 2, 2009

Let me preface this by saying that I have 2 motives for this post:
1. To show how miserable and wet (yet exciting and fun) our trip was.
2. To inform those who may venture this path in the future; beware!!!!

I will keep this post short because I am NOT uploading all these pics to blogger who, it seems, still clings to the ancient art of uploading as few pics as possible in a given time which are are not even guaranteed to be "clickable" for expansion to original size. Instead I will be using my flickr account to highlight the events of the weekend (lightly used at best). Please make the time to look at all the pics because some are pretty good (by mistake) and the comments will give more details to our fellows hikers.

I did enjoy the weekend and the road trip involved, though I feel shortchanged on hiking miles. I shall have to ride more to compensate. Thanks for the good times Guy.

Without further ado: Here ya go; click away! (Guy, these really are the cream of the crop out of 86, trust me.)

The waterfall pics really did turn out well. Lets get something else planned; I'm ready to hike.

Nice pics. That looks like a bad spot to camp though, but I'm assuming you didn't have much better options. The cave pics are cool.

Oh we did and didn't. The field had shoulder high weeds and the other spot was next to a gravel road.

You should have seen the poison ivy: some were huge and it was EVERYWHERE.

The cave (cavern!) was very cool and worth the price. The fact that I think so should tell you something.
