Thanks to the Pilgrim and his latest post, I have been exploring the world of NES nostalgia on youtube. Man, this stuff is great. I probably would never play the games very long, but I do miss playing quite a few of them. I really enjoyed this video. I am sure there are emulators and such taht allow you to play these games online; I've played Double Dragon online before.
However, I think you lose the essence of what it was to pull out the cartridge, blow on the end of it, and pray your game console worked! It didn't?! Hmm...try hitting reset then power....No? How about taking it out, blowing on it again (no spitting) and then baaaarrrely push it in. In fact only push it in as far as it takes to push it down. Still not working? Hmm...I used to hit mine...course, I ended up selling it and all my games in a garage sale because I couldn't get it to work anymore... I do miss those games..
Maybe I should have tried this. Man, cleaning the copper connections...I never thougth of that...
Maybe I should have tried this instead of getting rid of it.

On your post, I finally broke down and acquired a collection of ROMs and a good emulator...hundreds of NES games at my disposal! Perhaps not the same as sitting on the carpet in front of the TV, but still, fun.
You and I both know this is what we really need:

and not very expensive either. I was told you can get one for $50.
That is rather interesting. I never realized their patents expired and still have no idea how that really affects the world around us when patents expire. I may have to look into this..
